FAQ
Everything you want to know about Guildenza.
The game
What is Guildenza?
A turn-based trading strategy game set in a romanticised medieval Paris. You buy shards at the market, fill the guilds’ orders and open your stalls on both banks of the Seine. The most influential merchant wins. Read the rules.
How long does a game last?
About 30 minutes. The game ends as soon as a player reaches 40 ★ influence, at the end of that round, or after 20 rounds at the latest. The tutorial is shorter.
How many players?
1 to 4. Alone against 1 to 3 computer opponents, or 2 to 4 players on the same phone, passing it around. You can also mix humans and computer, up to four seats.
Is it hard to learn?
No. On first launch, a step-by-step tutorial has you play a real game: one button to tap at a time, an instruction at every step, and all six characters to discover. The illustrated rules are available at any time, and the computer offers a Novice level to get started.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Guildenza plays offline and without an account. Only ads need the internet: with no connection there are none, and the game carries on normally.
Which languages?
English and French. The game follows your phone’s language, and you can change it at any time in the settings.
Availability and price
When will Guildenza be released?
The game is in closed testing on Google Play: testers are playing the first version right now. It will be released after this testing phase. No date has been set yet.
How can I join the test?
The test is by invitation. To take part, email us at [email protected] with the Gmail address used on your Android phone.
Which devices?
Android phones, through Google Play. There is no iPhone version for now.
Is Guildenza free?
Yes. The full Paris game is free, with a few ads: a short full-screen ad at the end of some rounds, every three rounds at most, and never during your turn. A one-time “No ads” purchase is planned to play without any ads.
Do purchases give an advantage?
Never. Purchases remove ads, will unlock online play or add new worlds. They neither make a draw luckier nor an opponent weaker. They are one-time purchases, with no subscription.
Coming next
Will there be online play?
It is planned: private games with a code to share, duels against players of your level and a ranking for each world. Games against the computer will not count. Online play will be unlocked with a one-time purchase.
Will there be other worlds?
Yes. Rome, Egypt, the Maya cities, New York and Hollywood are in preparation. Each keeps Guildenza’s moves and adds its own novelty and an exclusive character. They will be sold separately, on release. Discover the worlds.
